How often should I paint the exterior of my home?
If you have a quality job done by professional, under normal circumstances your home’s exterior painting should last from 5 to 8 years.
However, there are many factors that contribute to this answer. What is the condition of the existing surface? Are there trees, shrubbery or consistently damp/moist areas? Do you have window air conditioning units? With so many variations to the conditions of your home’s exterior, please call us for a more detailed answer.

I’ve gotten a few estimates from different contractors. Why do the prices vary so much?
If all of your quotes are from honest, reputable, insured contractors, the major difference in price is usually directly related to the amount of surface preparation. This “prep” work, when done properly, can account for as much as 70% of the entire job. Painters can cut the cost of a job by skipping these vital steps. Since surfaces are covered by paint, you might not notice “short cuts” until there is a problem.

We repair small nicks, holes, etc. Replace drywall. Caulk where molding meets wall surface, around frames. Spackling, sanding. Every job requires different amounts of prep work, which is written out in our painting proposal.
